Extruded Nylon

Extruded Nylon (Polyamide 6 or PA 6) is the most universal extruded polyamide and presents a balanced grouping of all typical characteristics of this group of materials. Damping properties and impact strength of the material need to be emphasized as much as high persistence even at low temperatures.

Good abrasion resistance, predominantly against sliding friction partners with rough surfaces, rounds off the overall picture.  Compared to other cast types, PA 6 is less wear resistant, has higher moisture absorption and is, to some extent, less dimensionally stable.

Application examples:

  • Gears and sprockets
  • Hammer heads
  • Impact and shock resistant components
